Fill all your hearts with joys and happiness,
For all our hopes and dreams are now closer at hand.
Equipped with our inspirations, talents and our jobs,
Gives a promise of a brighter future in this foreign land
Never ever surrender to a very challenging work,
Even if it means you have to push your limits a little bit more
It is thru this untiring efforts comes surprisingly,
Rewarding gifts and praises from people on this distant shore
If you have been given a very difficult task,
Do it systematically and always give your best.
Consider all mistakes as a personal challenge,
For we know that life is full of enlightening test
If at times you feel that life far away is so unfair,
And all you can see is but unending sadness
Always remember that all your problems and fears,
Will be swept away by God and His overwhelming kindness
Never ever think money is enough to build a happy family,
For there are much important things we should not set aside.
For our absence we may not know it is causing them in strife,
And they would rather face trials and hardships with us by their side
So always give enough time to check them if their ok,
Don’t just let them decide because you are here and they are there.
Show them that you care by helping in many different ways,
You can call, chat and text it will make everything easier to bear
If a fellow OFW is facing hard times always give a hand,
For you may not know it when soon you may also be in need.
Sometimes even lending an ear will make a big difference,
And it is so fulfilling even for a very small good deed
Never fail to give thanks and praises to God up above,
Be it on your moments of big failures or times of great success.
For everything that is happening is all because of His will,
Sometimes He works silently while you are given a Bless.
May this simple ode be a reminder that our Loving God,
Is watching all over us even in this faraway land.
By this always work hard, do good and help those in need,
Then you'll feel His presence as told in "Footprints in the Sand."
